In that season, he threw for 4,170 yards and 36 touchdowns. On the ground, he rushed for 454 yards and six touchdowns. Those totals gave him a whopping 364 fantasy points on the season and put him at the No. 1 spot in overall points.
Young led the SF 49ers to a 12-4 finish and a Wild Card berth. In the Wild Card game, Young led the team to a thrilling last-second comeback against the Green Bay Packers.
He threw a touchdown pass to wide receiver Terrell Owens with eight seconds left to give them the lead in a play that was dubbed “The Catch II”.
The SF 49ers ended up winning the game 30-27.
