What were the best fantasy football seasons in SF 49ers history from a single player?

By now, your 2020 fantasy football season is over (even for the weirdos who had a Week 17 championship game). It was a strange season, to say the least. Not only were injuries a reason many players were inactive for games, but getting on the reserve/COVID-19 list also kept key players off the field.

With the way head coach Kyle Shanahan runs his offense, the SF 49ers never had one go-to guy who was a fantasy football hero from week to week. There were many players this season who had monster weeks in 2020, though.

For example, running back Jeff Wilson Jr. was a top fantasy performer in Week 7. In that game, he ran wild against the New England Patriots, rushing for 112 yards and three touchdowns. He had an equally impressive outing in Week 16 against the Arizona Cardinals, too, where he had 183 yards rushing and added one reception for 21 yards that went for a touchdown.

Rookie wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk also came to play in multiple weeks during the season. In that same Week 7 game in which Wilson balled out, Aiyuk had his first game of over 100 yards receiving. He grabbed six receptions for 115 yards receiving.

In Week 14 against the Washington Football Team, Aiyuk grabbed 10 receptions for 119 yards receiving. Both Wilson and Aiyuk were top fantasy performers in the aforementioned weeks. Neither of them, however, ended in the top 50 of fantasy football point scorers for the 2020 season.

There were a number of individual seasons in the past put up by SF 49ers that, had they been documented for fantasy football, would’ve put those players in the top five of fantasy performers for those particular seasons.

Let’s take a look at the top five fantasy football performances in franchise history for San Francisco.
