First-year wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk made plenty of strides in year one, flashing his own unique abilities and fit within Kyle Shanahan’s offense. Over a stretch of 10 games, Aiyuk recorded at least 100-plus yards or a touchdown in nine of them.
Pretty impressive for a rookie, right?
There were also some exceptional highlight-reel plays, too, including Aiyuk’s leap for a touchdown over a Philadelphia Eagles defender on Sunday Night Football in Week 4. Those are the kind of plays that wind up making or breaking a team’s postseason progress.
And it sure looks as if Aiyuk can be that kind of impact player.
The former ASU standout recorded an impressive 748 yards, which ranked best among all SF 49ers pass-catchers in 2020. Not lacking for some highlights either, Aiyuk shouldn’t be a stranger to some additional playoff glory very soon.
Niners fans could look forward to that for a long, long time.
