SF 49ers Option No. 5: The NFL Draft Picks — Zach Wilson (5%), Mac Jones (5%), Kyle Trask (2%), Trey Lance (1%), Kenny Pickett (1%), Jamie Newman (1%)

The SF 49ers are probably going to take a quarterback in the 2021 NFL Draft. The only real questions are when, between Rounds 1 and 7, and who?

Eventual draft positioning, trades up or down and all the other QB-hungry teams will help determine when, especially early. And they’ll influence the “who?” part of the question, too.

After that, it’s a matter of preference for Kyle Shanahan.

BYU’s Zach Wilson has been a hot name among Niners circles as of late. Alabama’s Mac Jones could have the better arm, while NDSU’s Trey Lance is awfully enticing as a dual-threat option. Perhaps Shanahan joins the club of entertaining these kinds of quarterbacks.

Depending on who’s available when San Francisco selects, of course.
