No. 4: Hi Santa, SF 49ers fans again. If possible, could we get some help on the offensive line?

The SF 49ers offensive line is like the movie Die Hard. Some say it’s a Christmas movie, while others think otherwise. With the O-line, some say it’s good and others think not.

There’s no grey area for either opinion.

As much as we all want change right away, we have to remember the NFL is an actual business. It’s not like a video game where you can trade your whole roster with salary cap mode off.

With the cap not moving much into next year, SF 49ers fans might have to deal with what’s on the field for one more season.

But this doesn’t mean general manager John Lynch won’t be looking at who’s available. He knows the SF 49ers gave up 36 sacks on Jimmy Garoppolo last season and they were on pace to shatter the 50 sack milestone earlier this year.

If you look around the league, the teams that are division leaders and top of the standings all have solid O-lines. They’re able to keep their quarterback upright and are able to open holes for the running game.

The SF 49ers were great at it last season, especially the run game, so look for them to either upgrade through the draft of free agency. Or, they’ll keep believing in who they have, and hopefully, we see an improvement.
