Despite being good all year, the SF 49ers received a lump of coal this holiday season. So what are fans wishing for this year?

‘Twas the night before Christmas and all through State Farm Stadium, the SF 49ers were stirring, still trying to feel cozy in Arizona.

Oh, how the Christmas wish list has changed in just under a year. Last holiday season, the SF 49ers were being flexed into prime-time slots and there was hope they could be the Grinch who stole the NFC from the Seattle Seahawks, Green Bay Packers, and New Orleans Saints.

At the top of the list, as it is every season, is winning the Lombardi Trophy. The Niners came ever so close to achieving the ultimate Christmas present.

But Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes starting pulling some Kevin McCallister pranks. He had the 49ers slipping and sliding through the house.

Finally, 2020 decided to be the ultimate Scrooge. With the first-ever virtual NFL Draft, no preseason games or true training camp, COVID-19 protocols, fans not allowed in most stadiums, and injuries galore, we can all look at the year and say “bah humbug.”

However, like most Hallmark Christmas movies, we’ll end the year on a high note with hope going into next season.

SF 49ers fans were pretty vocal with their holiday wish list over the year. We’ll start our wish list with the most sought after topic: a new quarterback.
