SF 49ers: 5 most disappointing players from Week 15 vs. Cowboys
By Peter Panacy
No. 1: SF 49ers Quarterback Nick Mullens
Despite the quarterback’s woes in recent weeks, Kyle Shanahan still elected to go with Nick Mullens under center, saying only turnovers would be the signal-caller’s undoing.
Well, Shanahan still stuck with Mullens despite tossing two bad interceptions, including this one that all but ended any hopes of a San Francisco comeback:

And there was a strip-sack fumble lost by Mullens earlier in the game, too, which combined to make three giveaways from the SF 49ers’ No. 2 quarterback. Only an apparent injury late in the game opened up the door for the third-stringer, C.J. Beathard, to see some limited field time.
And Beathard will have a 49-yard Hail Mary touchdown completion as time concluded to make his case to start the final two games of the year.
Mullens, meanwhile, finished the game going 21-of-36 for 219 passing yards and two touchdowns.
But his two interceptions and lost fumble that’ll ultimately highlight the performance, landing him squarely at No. 1 on this list where it’s not so glorious to be.
And it’ll only add to the question marks the Niners have within their quarterback room entering the offseason.
