SF 49ers Defensive Tackle Javon Kinlaw

Defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw has taken some time to get acclimated to his role on the SF 49ers and rightfully so, he is a rookie. Even though Kinlaw was drafted in the top 15 of this year’s NFL Draft, he was still a raw prospect and it was going to take some time for him to reach his full potential.

With all the injuries along San Francisco’s front-seven, Kinlaw has had to step into a larger role than what would have been expected if the entire unit was healthy. Over the last couple of weeks, Kinlaw has started to come into his own and he has been filling up the stat sheet, something he unable to do at the beginning of the season.

In the last four weeks, Kinlaw has 1.5 sacks, two tackles-for-loss, four quarterback hits and 12 combined tackles. He even added a pick-six in Week 11 against the Los Angeles Rams.

In his matchup against the Cowboys, Kinlaw will be facing off against an injury-depleted Dallas offensive line. The Cowboys are without three of their starting five offensive linemen.

With Kinlaw starting to really get rolling these past few weeks, we could be getting one of his best games of the season this Sunday against Dallas.
