The SF 49ers are facing off against long-time rival the Dallas Cowboys; look for several players to step-up in the big moment.

In Week 15, the SF 49ers will be matching up against the 4-9 Dallas Cowboys who are also riddled with injuries. Like San Francisco, the Cowboys will be without their starting quarterback, Dak Prescott, which should make for an exciting battle of the backup quarterbacks.

The matchup this weekend isn’t quite like it used to be when these two teams faced off in the 1970s and 1990s, but both teams have something to fight for, so don’t expect either to fold.

The Niners are coming off perhaps their ugliest loss of the season, outside of the Miami Dolphins game, against the Washington Football Team a week ago and have now virtually ruined their chances at making the playoffs. Hopes are still alive in San Francisco, but the SF 49ers would need a near miracle to find themselves playing on Wild Card weekend.

As for the Cowboys, their playoff hopes are still alive as well, but similar to the Niners, the light on the other side has become extremely dim.

Despite neither team playing well at this point, nor all this season, there have been some individual performances that both teams can look into next year with some hope. Dallas has gotten excellent play from rookie wide receiver CeeDee Lamb and so has San Francisco with their rookie receiver, Brandon Aiyuk.

Bragging about individual statistics isn’t exactly how you want to celebrate a season, but that’s where these teams are at this point.

It’s hard to expect a win from the SF 49ers even against a struggling Cowboys team, but expect these three to have a spectacular game.
