3 Cowboys who pose biggest threat to SF 49ers in Week 15
By Peter Panacy
While the Cowboys are awful this season, these three players could be problems for the SF 49ers as they look to win in Week 15.
The 2020 season is a “what could have been?” year for both the SF 49ers and Dallas Cowboys.
While Niners fans know all too well the arduous challenges the 5-8 Niners have faced this season in the wake of more injuries than any other team in the league, the Cowboys, too, understand what it’s like to have key contributors go down.
Quarterback Dak Prescott, the franchise-caliber player whom Dallas still hasn’t committed to long term, has been out with a serious leg injury, giving way to veteran backup quarterback Andy Dalton.
Dalton and what’s been nothing more than a so-so Cowboys offense doesn’t seem like a mismatch working against San Francisco’s favor. And Dallas’ worst-ranked defense actually looks like a blessing for an SF 49ers offense that struggled to move the ball the last two weeks against the Buffalo Bills and Washington Football Team.
That said, there are players on the Cowboys roster who pose threats to head coach Kyle Shanahan and Co.
Ironically enough, Dallas is still in the playoff hunt within the lowly NFC East, meaning this game means more to Dalton, head coach Mike McCarthy and Co. than it would for the Niners, who are now looking harder at draft positioning than they were a week ago.
Still, it’s always great for San Francisco to upend Dallas whenever possible, and one might be OK with the SF 49ers pulling off a win here.
Despite that, these three Cowboys players could wind up being problematic if the Niners want to pull off a Week 15 victory.
