The SF 49ers need to get a win over the Washington Football Team in Week 14 after losing ugly to the Bills, and here’s why it happens.

4:25 p.m. ET. 5-7. Fox. 5-7. 42. 49ers -3. 58. Sunday, Dec. 13

The SF 49ers‘ slim hopes for a playoff hit took a major hit in Week 13 when the Niners lost ugly at “home” to the Buffalo Bills on Monday Night Football.

Now at 5-7, San Francisco lost ground in both the NFC West and the playoff picture, and it’ll likely take winning at least three of its next four games to even have a chance at the No. 7 seed in the NFC.

Just moments after the SF 49ers game kicked off, the Washington Football Team pulled off the upset of upsets by knocking off the previously undefeated Pittsburgh Steelers in miraculous fashion, also moving to a 5-7 record and staying right in the thick of the NFC East division lead.

It’s crazy how identical records can come with completely different contexts.

Regardless, the focus for head coach Kyle Shanahan’s squad now shifts to absorbing the loss against the Bills and applying those lessons learned towards Washington, which is going to be riding high from the momentum after its win over Pittsburgh. Considering the Niners are in desperation mode, there’s essentially no room for error with tougher games remaining on their schedule, namely in Weeks 16 and 17 against the Arizona Cardinals and Seattle Seahawks, respectively.

Yet there are plenty of reasons to suspect San Francisco bounces back from its tough Week 13 loss with a win over the Football Team this upcoming Sunday.

In addition to the desperation, let’s explore three reasons why the SF 49ers pull off this much-needed win.
