Round 6, Pick No. 192 Overall: SF 49ers select cornerback Jordyn Peters, Auburn

. Cornerback. Tigers . Jordyn Peters. 192. player. 842

Remember the part about the SF 49ers potentially losing multiple cornerbacks to free agency this offseason?

Yes, it’s likely at least two corners are going to be taken in the NFL Draft.

While the Niners already added a smaller corner in this mock with Elijah Molden, going after someone who fits the bill as a bigger-bodied outside defender wouldn’t be a bad move.

To supplement both the depth and land someone with potential long-term starting capabilities, Auburn cornerback Jordyn Peters makes some sense in Round 6.

Peters, 6-foot-1 and 200 pounds, has more of an ideal frame for the position. Like current Niners defensive back Tarvarius Moore, Peters can double as a safety and played there in college.

Because of this, he tends to prefer the action in front of him, which might help translate to him being a better zone-style cornerback at the pro level rather than someone in man coverage. But that would arguably give him a higher ceiling at the NFL level and make him a valuable and versatile piece within San Francisco’s defensive backfield.
