No. 1: SF 49ers Linebacker Fred Warner

The Rams only managed only 37 rush yards on 20 attempts in their Week 11 win over the Buccaneers, yet that’s not the formula head coach Sean McVay wants to follow with his offense.

And with the SF 49ers still boasting a top-five pass defense, one can understand why McVay wants to get his run game back on track during this contest.

If there’s one player who can thwart this approach, it’s linebacker Fred Warner.

Warner has returned to being a tackling machine for San Francisco’s defense this season, leading the team with 79 takedowns but will be looking to generate his first forced fumble of the year.

One of Warner’s primary objectives will be matching up with Los Angeles’ leading tailback, Darrell Henderson, who was held in check in Week 11 but is still averaging 4.5 yards per carry.

Henderson, though, hasn’t fumbled this season. Perhaps if the Niners pull off a win, Warner will be the main reason why that trend shifts in San Francisco’s favor.

Either way, look for Warner to be a key defensive cog once again in the SF 49ers’ attempt to eliminate any sort of effectiveness the LA Rams try to build up on the ground. And if it goes well, Warner could easily be the game’s biggest standout.
