No. 1: SF 49ers pull off the trap-game win

While the SF 49ers are still in the playoff hunt, the reality behind the context is Kyle Shanahan’s squad is playing more of a spoiler role this late in the season than anything else.

For the Rams, coming off a prime-time high-profile bout against another playoff contender, Week 12 looks like the epitome of a trap game.

The travel and short week combine to make one element working against Los Angeles in this contest. Sure, the victory over Tampa Bay has to feel good, and one can accurately guess a win over Bucs quarterback Tom Brady in which the Rams offense also was far from perfect gives Sean McVay’s squad some momentum.

But there can always be room for a letdown, not unlike what the Niners experienced last year in their Week 15 home loss to the lowly Atlanta Falcons after pulling off an emotional road win over the New Orleans Saints the week prior.

If the Rams come out flat, San Francisco has a chance. It’s that simple.
