No. 4: Raheem Mostert comes back with a vengeance

The Niners have sorely missed running back Raheem Mostert, who has been out with a knee injury since the last time these two teams played back in Week 6.

Los Angeles did a good enough job containing San Francisco’s top runner, limiting him to just 65 yards on 17 rushes and an average of 3.82 yards per carry. But the context this week will be vastly different, as Mostert should be hopefully well healed from his injury and fresh from the lack of action over the past few weeks.

Plus, with quarterback Nick Mullens not exactly serving as a high-caliber option for the SF 49ers to move the ball through the air, Mostert’s return might have to be the primary reason why Kyle Shanahan’s offense finds success.

True, the Rams have allowed only 913 rush yards this season, which is good for fifth best in the NFL.

But Mostert’s career average against LA is a notable 4.67 yards per carry.

Expect the Niners’ leading rusher to get closer to that stat line this Sunday if he’s available on game day.
