These guys are done with the SF 49ers, and it may be for the better.

It’s always unfortunate for everyone when an SF 49ers player doesn’t pan out.

Sometimes a player is taken with a high NFL Draft pick or signed to a big contract, only to end up disappointing for whatever number of reasons.

It sucks, but it’s a part of the game.

This is something the SF 49ers are definitely familiar with, as they have had a number of busts over the years. Even recently, the Niners went through something like it when they elected to waive third-year wide receiver Dante Pettis, their second-round pick from the 2018 NFL Draft, who flashed his rookie season before becoming an afterthought in 2019 and early into 2020 before being let go. Pettis had his promises and was acquired via a notable draft selection, only to see his value to the team dissipate in short order and all the way off the roster.

Others have found themselves in similar situations, too, since general manager John Lynch and head coach Kyle Shanahan took over their duties in 2017.

It pains me to write about this, but there are some players currently on the roster who have, for whatever reason, sealed their fate in regards to their future with San Francisco.

Let’s take a look at the first of three players on this list whose careers with the SF 49ers are likely doomed to an early conclusion.
