Niner Noise’s resident Aussie breaks down Week 9 for the SF 49ers and their loss to the Packers.

  • Oh boy, the SF 49ers really look down to the last man, for the offense at least.
  • I won’t lie, this is one I am NOT looking forward to.

    But, let’s dive in anyway.

Green Bay Packers to receive the ball.

The Packers are running the ball down the throat of the SF 49ers, that’s our thing!

Well, that was just a pathetically easy touchdown for Green Bay. They went down the field at will.

Ugh. It’s gonna be that kind of game if it continues.

The elbow of Davante Adams is close to being out of bounds, but I don’t see how you can overturn it with it being that close.

Now it’s the SF 49ers turn to give the offense a try.

Having to use a timeout already doesn’t fill me with much confidence.

The offense is no good to start the game.

The 49ers look completely helpless to stop the run right now, Aaron Jones is trampling over the defense.

  • Excellent breakup by Emmanuel Moseley, he gave up a touchdown (although the coverage wasn’t awful) and answered that with an excellent breakup there.
  • Richie James had the entire middle of the field to himself and that is a BIG play.

The 49ers are putting together a decent drive here, let’s see what they can do now.

The good old hard count. Love when that works.

  • If Nick Mullens gets hurt, I might actually weep.
  • Third down now, big play coming up.

Another timeout, I guess it’s hard to be critical of the timing of the offense when half the offense has been forced into starting.

That’s going to be a drop, which is a disappointing outcome because that was a wonderful pass from Mullens.

7-3 to the Packers, but there are some promising signs from San Francisco here.

End of the first quarter, I’m infinitely more optimistic than before.

Big drop by the Packers, so the 49ers have a chance to continue momentum here.

Ugh, so much momentum, and a holding call has to go ahead and ruin it.

Ugh, and now picked off. All the momentum is gone now.

  • Jaquiski Tartt breaks the play off, good work.
  • Gee, the replay does not look flattering for Jerick McKinnon there.
  • Fred Warner highlights ease the pain.

The 49ers just cannot complete a sack, they’re getting pressure but Aaron Rodgers keeps making plays.

One timeout remaining, but Kyle Shanahan decides to challenge the spot.

I think it could be short, but I don’t know if they’ll change it.

    It has just been changed.

Well, can they get the stop here?

Ugh, the conversion is good. Wasn’t bad coverage, just a great throw.

The defense is being fairly stout, it should be said that it’s taken some great throws by Aaron Rodgers to find chinks in the armor at least as far as passing is concerned.

Oh wow, that is an absolutely horrible interference call against Jason Verrett.

Why does anyone want to be a defender? Seriously. You get called for good coverage.

Easy touchdown, frankly because of a pathetic penalty on the previous play.

I’m actually very angry right now.

Big deficit for the SF 49ers now, let’s see if they can build some momentum back.

Mullens should have been picked off again, that was a horrible throw right into triple coverage.

Luckily, the damage was minimal after the interception was dropped.

It’s been a really poor few drives for the 49ers currently.

An interception by the 49ers, but it will come back due to too many men on the field.

Absolutely nothing has gone right quite frankly.

It’s not a 49ers game unless an opposing quarterback easily avoids pressure and scrambles upfield.

It’s the single biggest failure of the 49ers even when healthy.

Touchdown to the Packers, that was pathetically easy. Pathetic.

The Packers jump offside and there’s no flag, meanwhile, Davante Adams gets defended and he gets a flag for nothing.

    Amazing.

  • Richie James drops the ball, ugh. Packers will get the ball one more time this half.
  • One more half of this to come. Let’s hope it’s mercifully quick.

Players I literally don’t recognize are touching the ball for us.

Tartt questionable, I knew there was going to be an injury somewhere.

Mullens also intercepted again. It might actually be worth going with C.J. Beathard.

    Yes, C.J. Beathard.

Another deep pass completed by Rodgers, the defense had been decent for a time but they’re just giving up chunks of yardage over the top.

Packers once again driving down the field. This would have been a difficult game even with an intact offense to be brutally honest.

Touchdown, entirely too easy once again.

    Mullens fumbles. Packers recover.

The blindside hit, Justin Skule has been a sieve.

    Packers driving down the field.

I should have had that line ready to copy and paste.

James with another big gain, and is literally the one player on offense that is having anything approaching a good game.

He and Fred Warner have been the few shining lights.

    Another holding call, spectacular.

Just one more quarter to get through.

Mullens doesn’t get the first down, he can’t do the sneak like Jimmy Garoppolo can.

    Another drive that goes nowhere.

Another deep pass to Adams, the secondary has been utterly inept.

34-3 to the Packers, I’ve honestly zoned out now because watching the Packers march up and down the field is ridiculous.

On the plus side, it may be time for some garbage time points.

Ross Dwelley with a good catch, despite almost dropping the ball there.

Richie James! The one player I’m excited to get a touchdown because he has given it his all tonight.

It hasn’t been about garbage time stats for him, he has made legitimate plays.

34-10, at the very least there’s a touchdown on the board for San Francisco.

Green Bay going with the backups now, no use risking starters.

The 49ers driving down for one more garbage-time touchdown.

Ooh, I hope it’s James again.

Time clicking down, 15 seconds to go.

    Give it to James!

Next. SF 49ers: 3 silver linings from otherwise ugly Week 9 loss to Packers. dark

Eight seconds to go and one yard to get one more score.

Screw it, do a quarterback sneak.

Jerick McKinnon scores, and the score is going to look a lot more flattering than it should.

34-17 the final score, and that will do it from me for this game.
