Stud: SF 49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk

If there is only one positive thing to take out of the 2020 season for the 49ers, it’s that rookie wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk looks to be the same home-run hit fellow receiver Deebo Samuel was for the team last year.

Aiyuk followed up his career game of six catches for 115 yards against the New England Patriots with eight catches for 91 yards and a touchdown against the Seahawks.

Now, yes, some of this was in garbage time, but had the two-point conversion been converted in the fourth quarter, the touchdown would have brought the SF 49ers to within a possession late in the game.

Aiyuk never gave up, and he gave the Seahawks secondary fits all game.

The big challenge for Aiyuk now comes in needing to be productive with a backup quarterback, with the biggest name on offense in George Kittle on the sidelines.

Nevertheless, all these outs for the offense should give Aiyuk more touches and designed plays drawn up for him. It’s going to be an exciting second half of the season to watch.
