No. 4: Jimmy Garoppolo shakes last week off

With Jimmy Garoppolo, you just have to accept that sometimes you’re going to get some bad with the good.

He’s the Star Wars of quarterbacks if you will.

But the good is worth waiting for. A week after being benched — I mean “protected” against the Miami Dolphins — Garoppolo showed why he hasn’t yet lost consecutive games in his career against a defense that is very potent.

It wasn’t a perfect game, and there were some frustrating moments in the second half when the SF 49ers could have put the game beyond all possible doubt, but the first half ended up being more than enough.

Garoppolo threw three touchdowns in the first half and dissected a much-vaunted Rams defense throughout. Some of this was due to superior Kyle Shanahan playcalling and excellent blocking, but Garoppolo took what he was given and made it count.

The Rams looked completely blown away, and Garoppolo left the game with a win and without grass stains on the back of his jersey.

Not a bad game for him, but he still has to endure a tough run of games ahead.
