Niner Noise looks at the takeaways from the SF 49ers and their Week 6 win over the LA Rams.

The SF 49ers managed to snag an upset and correct some poor form with a 24-16 win over the LA Rams in Week 6, which was a lot less competitive than the final score indicated.

It’s too soon to see if all the things that have been plaguing the Niners on the field have started to be corrected, but it’s an encouraging sign from a team that looked a shell of itself from last season.

A heavy dose of aggressive offensive playcalling in the first half set the tone for San Francisco, which walked over the Rams seemingly at will. Meanwhile, the defense was able to keep the Rams offense from its usual tricks on offense while being able to cover the receivers.

It didn’t all go the 49ers way, however, which leads us to the first takeaway.

No. 1: SF 49ers cannot escape from being injured

There are three certainties in life.

Death, taxes and someone from the SF 49ers getting significantly hurt in a football game.

Running back Raheem Mostert, who was running like an absolute bull in the game before getting hurt, suffered a high-ankle sprain and will be out for at least three weeks after his injury was serious enough for him to end up on injured reserve.

Meanwhile, center Ben Garland may be joining him on IR after he suffered a calf strain. This reduces the 49ers to their third-string snapper in Hroniss Grasu unless the 49ers sign someone to compete for the position.

The running back position is less dire but still troubling. Jerick McKinnon, JaMycal Hasty and Jeff Wilson are the remaining healthy players at the position, but there is doubt as to if any of them can handle a role as the primary back in the rotation.
