No. 2: Jimmy Garoppolo hits Brandon Aiyuk for SF 49ers’ third touchdown
The two consecutive completions from Jimmy Garoppolo to Kendrick Bourne were crucial, as it moved the chains for the SF 49ers and put them in an excellent position to score just before halftime.
Yet the Niners red-zone offense has historically not been very good under Kyle Shanahan, and one could only wonder whether or not Garoppolo could be responsible for some short-area magic in such a confined space.
Fortunately, he had the rookie wide receiver, Brandon Aiyuk, at his disposal:

What made this play so rewarding was Garoppolo nearly tossed an interception on the previous play, trying to force a pass to Trent Taylor at the goal line. Thankfully, Jimmy G bounced back, stayed in the pocket, which was entirely clean, and delivered a quick-strike throw through a narrow window to Aiyuk.
The catch marked Aiyuk’s first receiving touchdown at the NFL level and got San Francisco a critical score it would eventually need to ensure the win.
