The SF 49ers’ Undrafted Free Agents

C. . . San Francisco 49ers. UNDRAFTED FREE AGENTS

For your recollection, here was the list of UDFA players the SF 49ers grabbed after the 2020 NFL Draft:

  1. Broc Rutter, QB, North Central
  2. Salvon Ahmed, RB, Washington
  3. JaMycal Hasty, RB, Baylor
  4. Josh Hokit, FB, Fresno State
  5. Chris Finke, WR, Notre Dame
  6. Chase Harrell, TE, Arkansas
  7. Darrion Daniels, NT, Nebraska
  8. Jonas Griffith, LB, Indiana State
  9. DeMarkus Acy, CB, Missouri
  10. Jared Mayden, S, Alabama

More from Niner Noise

From that crop, Hasty, Hokit, Harrell, Daniels and Mayden are still with San Francisco, Hasty the lone player who is on the active roster.

This shouldn’t be too big a surprise here, as the Niners still boast a Super Bowl-caliber roster with awfully few spots for low-profile rookies. Although it was good to see Hasty get some modest action during the SF 49ers’ Week 3 win over the New York Giants.

One might expect the former Baylor Bear to receive some more looks over the course of the season.

Essentially all these players are developmental types, and the 49ers retaining a number of their UDFA signings for continued maturation amid a pandemic-altered offseason is notable, too.

This could be an incomplete grade, but this crop receives a C-mark because the expectation level has been met. Not surpassed or missed on entirely, just met.
