No. 2: SF 49ers’ Nick Mullens is prone to turnovers, now would be good to limit them

If the SF 49ers want to leave the Big Apple on a two-game win streak, Nick Mullens needs to be smart with the ball. He already has 11 interceptions in his young career, including one last week in his short stint.

The New York Giants are chomping at the bit knowing they’ll face a depleted SF 49ers lineup. And the defense will be every more hungry knowing they’ll face a quarterback who loves serving up delicious turnovers on a silver platter.

Sunday isn’t the right time for Mullens to start the “season of giving.” The Giants forced the Chicago Bears into two turnovers and only lost by four points. Without defensive linemen Nick Bosa and Solomon Thomas pressuring Giants quarterback Daniel Jones, there’s a chance their offense could go off.

When Mullens is under pressure, he needs to make sure he either makes an accurate throw to a receiver or throw the ball away.

Allow your defense to get as much rest as possible.
