SF 49ers Free-Agent Target No. 1: EDGE Ezekiel Ansah
The Niners already brought in veteran free-agent EDGE Ezekiel Ansah for a second workout ahead of the team’s Week 2 matchup at New York.
The two parties left without a deal being finalized, although one could easily speculate the situation for San Francisco has changed a lot now. During his postgame press conference, head coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters Ansah could be back on the SF 49ers’ radar:
Shanahan said "possibly" on re-pursuing guys like Ziggy Ansah.

Like Anthony Zettel, Ansah has a prior history with Kris Kocurek, who already convinced the Niners to retain one of their now-more-featured pass-rushers, Kerry Hyder, who’ll assume a larger role with Nick Bosa likely out for the season.
Perhaps Ansah will be the latest added to the mix.
Ansah, however, also comes with a lengthy injury history and hasn’t played a fully healthy season since 2017 when he recorded 12 sacks back with the Lions when Kocurek was there.
Still, it could be a proverbial “desperation mode” for San Francisco, as the team will need to find at least some supplementary pass-rush prowess from players who have stayed on the free-agent wire all throughout the offseason.

Regardless, expect the 49ers to make some much-needed moves here in the very near future.
