The SF 49ers look to bounce back against the NY Jets in Week 2, and these three players could end up having massive games on Sunday.

Despite the SF 49ers losing their Week 1 season opener to the Arizona Cardinals last Sunday, there were some notable performances from head coach Kyle Shanahan’s side.

Running back Raheem Mostert proved he was worth the offseason contract renegotiation, while fellow tailback Jerick McKinnon showed why Shanahan targeted him as a high-priority free agent back in 2018.

Both players recorded touchdowns in the loss.

Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, who had a decent stat line and 103.0 passer rating in Week 1, didn’t have his best game, though. So, with the Niners now traveling to take on the 0-1 New York Jets at MetLife Stadium this Sunday, Garoppolo and Co. will look to find some more consistency to avoid the pitfalls and scrutiny associated with a Super Bowl-hopeful squad starting the season 0-2.

Fortunately, the lowly Jets provide a great opportunity for a number of San Francisco players to shine during the contest.

Garoppolo getting some offensive reinforcements back, namely center Ben Garland and wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk, from injury also boosts the chances of this happening. The Jets, too, are banged up on offense, meaning the SF 49ers’ own defense could wind up displaying a devastating effort against head coach Adam Gase and Co.

The Niners could use a dominating performance on both sides of the ball after what happened last week. But if we had to single out three players who wind up becoming stars of the game, who would they be and why?

Let’s expect these three San Francisco players to have great games on Sunday.
