Legendary ex-SF 49ers rusher Frank Gore will be lining up against the Niners this coming Sunday with the Jets. Time to relive top moments.
It seems like legendary former SF 49ers running back Frank Gore has been playing since the dawn of time, and that’s probably because he has. Gore has played on five teams since being drafted by the Niners in 2005 in his 16 NFL seasons, including the Indianapolis Colts, Miami Dolphins, Buffalo Bills and New York Jets.
This coming Sunday, the 49ers will have to line up opposite Gore as he has been named the starting running back for the Jets following an injury to lucratively paid rusher, Le’Veon Bell. It’s kind of insane how consistently effective Gore has been considering he is now 37 years old, making him the oldest starting running back in the league by far. Most running backs completely lose their ability to cut, break tackles and run with speed by the time they’re in their late 20s or early 30s.
So the fact Gore has found a way to be effective at his age makes him a true enigma. His longevity alone makes him a surefire Pro Football Hall of Famer, although there are plenty of other reasons why he deserves to be enshrined in Canton.
Since Gore will be facing off against his former team on Sunday, it’s a perfect time to go over and recall three of those best moments from the Niners legend.
