SF 49ers Round 6, Pick No. 210 Overall: CB D.J. Daniel, Georgia

Georgia cornerback D.J. Daniel is one of those prospects who could wind up all over mock drafts and big boards come spring. Those who are high on the lean, lanky 6-foot-1, 185-pound prospect could see him as an early day-two pick, while others potentially view Daniel as someone to be had in the latter stages on day three.

Some additional game tape would help Daniel’s stock rise, but for now, let’s assume he winds up being a day-three target.

That said, San Francisco’s needs at cornerback haven’t just gone away after selecting Paulson Adebo. Adebo would likely fill Richard Sherman’s void, yes. But with the SF 49ers also poised to lose K’Waun Williams while having fellow cornerback Emmanuel Moseley hitting restricted free agency, one can see how things get a bit tricky here.

Moseley is a favorite to be retained and could potentially bump into a nickel role, opening up another boundary position.

One which the speedy and aggressive Daniel could occupy.

Daniel’s speed is a No. 1 trait, although his physicality could get him into some trouble early within the pro ranks, as he might be prone to being called for some pass-interference penalties until he adjusts.

That said, Daniel has plenty of upsides and would be a notable steal if he falls to Round 6.
