The SF 49ers are beginning to hone their roster in training camp down to 53 players, yet these three performances should be getting more attention.

It’s always fun to watch the SF 49ers‘ big-name players show up in training camp.

Thankfully, there haven’t been any shortages of the well-known stories. Case in point, watching EDGE Nick Bosa go up against perennial Pro Bowl offensive tackle Trent Williams in one-on-one and full 11-on-11 matchups during camp has been exciting. Watching rookie wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk dazzle with some impressive route-running skills has been fun, too.

It’s also good to see running back Jerick McKinnon, who missed the last two years after suffering an ACL tear in 2018, churning out some eye-popping performances during practices as well.

Those are the well-known, easily talked-about performances the majority of the fanbase will eat up with regularity. And there’s nothing wrong with that. Head coach Kyle Shanahan will be relying heavily on all those players, among others.

But one could argue the more provocative storylines are the ones not always receiving a lot of attention. Or at least stemming from players who don’t exactly make up front-page news.

As last year’s Super Bowl squad proved, the Niners need less-known talent to exceed expectations. For example, few predicted a little-known offensive lineman, Daniel Brunskill, would go from a likely training camp addition to a regular starter over the course of 2019. He wasn’t discussed much in training camp last year and yet became a key part to San Francisco’s success.

Who are the the SF 49ers’ next players who seemingly came out of nowhere after enjoying undisclosed success in camp?

Let’s look at three players who are quietly flying under the radar in training camp so far.
