While 49ers training camp stories have largely focused on big-name players and hyped rookies, these three under-the-radar topics need attention, too.

Two weeks of San Francisco 49ers training camp is almost in the books, and there is no shortage of well-known storylines and topics to discuss, both the good and the bad.

Perhaps the best example of this in camp is that of wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk, who was dazzling in his first regulated practices after being selected in Round 1 of the 2020 NFL Draft, only to see his camp sessions cut short by a hamstring injury.

Good and bad, wrapped into one complete storyline.

Wide receiver is perhaps one of the better examples of 49ers training camp storylines to watch, Aiyuk headlining the discussion while third-year pro Dante Pettis‘ attempts to bounce back from a forgettable 2019 campaign are another.

Wrapped within the wide receivers, though, are less-known and less-discussed topics not having received quite the attention as Aiyuk, Pettis or even slot receiver Trent Taylor. There has been a lot of movement at the back end of the Niners 80-man offseason roster at this position, including the signing of free-agent wideouts, River Cracraft and Kevin White, last Thursday.

Forming the back end of San Francisco’s wide receiver depth chart is one unheralded storyline not receiving quite as much attention as other camp battles.

But considering how much focus the 49ers are putting into this facet of their roster, it probably deserves a bit more.

There are plenty of other storylines needing to be watched a bit more closely, too, including these three which have seemingly flown under the radar throughout the course of 49ers training camp.
