49ers Cornerback Richard Sherman

It’s funny to reminisce on the times when cornerback Richard Sherman was a Seattle Seahawk, and 99.9 percent of Niners fans hated him with a passion.

Now he’s one of the team’s most important players and has continued to show that age isn’t a factor yet for his game.

Sherman had a huge season last year when he received both second-team All-Pro and Pro Bowl honors. He was cautiously targetted by opposing quarterbacks last season, which can be explained by his 88.9 Pro Football Focus grade in 2019. Sherman leads an already thin cornerback group, so any absence would undeniably result in disaster for the 49ers secondary. Statistically, his season was vintage Sherman with three picks, 11 pass deflections and one touchdown allowed in 15 regular-season games.

He may be getting older, but he’s still elite and considered one of the league’s best corners, so he deserves this spot on our power ranking for the coming season.
