No. 1: 49ers EDGE Nick Bosa (2019 NFL Draft)

Was it ever doubt that pass-rushing specialist Nick Bosa was going to be No. 1 on this list? I hope not.

More from SF 49ers News

Bosa was an absolute monster in his rookie year, more so than people probably expected. The 49ers selected Bosa second overall in the 2019 NFL Draft, and he did not disappoint. His ability to crumble opposing offensive lines and attack the quarterback is a thing of beauty. Many critics believe Bosa will be an elite option at the position in no time.

Bosa was among one of the best all-around pass-rushers in 2019, recording nine sacks, two pass deflections, one interception, two fumble recoveries, and 25 QB-hits in 16 games. His ridiculous stat line earned him 2019 Pro Bowl and PFF All-Rookie team selections, as well as the 2019 Defensive Rookie of the Year award. His combination of speed and strength makes him an absolute nightmare to deal with as an offensive lineman.

Kyle Shanahan is definitely still smirking to this day about the selection of Bosa and probably could not be happier with his performance during the 2019 NFL campaign. He was, without the doubt, the most impactful and talented rookie during the Shanahan era and has the potential to be one of the best 49ers defenders of all time.

Bosa definitely has all the makings of an elite NFL pass-rusher and will continue to be a dominating force in the league for the foreseeable future. The scariest part about Bosa is he’s just getting started… the best is yet to come.
