49ers Linebackers

Making the team: Dre Greenlaw, Kwon Alexander, Fred Warner, Azeez Al-Shaair, Mark Nzeocha, Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles
Missing the cut: Joey Alfieri, Jonas Griffith, Joe Walker

Analysis

Linebacker is a chance for someone to make a statement in camp and make it on the roster out of nowhere. While the starting three of Dre Greenlaw, Kwon Alexander and Fred Warner are assured of a place, someone can replicate former undrafted free agent, Azeez Al-Shaair, and make the spot as a backup with him and Mark Nzeocha.

The two likely candidates is former Arizona Cardinals player Joe Walker and 2019 practice squad player Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles. If the 49ers continue with six linebackers, they’re the battle to watch.

Don’t rule out Joey Alfieri and Jonas Griffith making a statement either. The 49ers have shown they’re willing to give playing time to outside chances who deserve it.
