How 49ers prioritize George Kittle, other contract extensions

Priority No. 1: 49ers Cornerback Emmanuel Moseley
Third-year defensive back Emmanuel Moseley is technically going to be a restricted free agent in 2021, so the chances the Niners are able to retain him — or at least get something substantial in return if he signs elsewhere — are pretty high.
That said, Moseley is an up-and-coming commodity at a position with plenty of question marks beyond this season. Cornerbacks Richard Sherman, K’Waun Williams and Ahkello Witherspoon are all entering contract years, and the 49ers could see a pretty massive turnaround as far as the secondary goes.
With Moseley still young and on the rise, getting him on a relatively cheap deal would be pretty smart.
Moseley, 24 years old, has the flexibility to play both over the slot and on the boundary. While he did allow that infamous 3rd-and-15 completion in Super Bowl LIV, Pro Football Focus‘ 70.0 overall grade given to Moseley last year suggests he’s going to be a worthy gem of a find from the undrafted ranks.
It would be much smarter to lock Moseley up now before he winds up putting together an excellent 2021 campaign.
