The 49ers are likely done with the 2020 NFL free agency market. But these remaining three free agents do have ties to the Niners in one way or another.

Considering the San Francisco 49ers are coming off a Super Bowl appearance and were able to retain all but four of their starters on offense and defense heading into 2020, there’s a strong chance general manager John Lynch and Co. have little need to dip into what’s now a small and over-combed NFL free agency market.

Sure, there’s always the chance of a minor transaction, perhaps to replace an injured player or a minor upgrade over someone else with little to no chance of making the 53-man roster.

But for the most part, one should assume the Niners are all but done making any substantial tweaks via free agency between now and Week 1.

Especially considering Lynch has just over $12 million in available cap space, currently, according to Over the Cap.

That said, there’s always the chance San Francisco brings aboard a free agent or two to bolster the team’s offseason roster between now and Week 1. The 49ers have suffered some notable injuries already this offseason — wide receiver Deebo Samuel (foot), wide receiver Richie James (wrist) and defensive back D.J. Reed (pectoral) — so it wouldn’t be shocking if the team at least added another body for competition purposes with the outside potential to hang around into the regular season.

Especially if those injuries linger.

Plus, the Niners have never been shy about bringing aboard players who somehow have ties with members of the team’s current staff, be it head coach Kyle Shanahan, running backs coach Bobby Turner or defensive line coach Kris Kocurek.

With that in mind, here are three remaining free agents who could be targets simply based off their prior connections to San Francisco’s staff.
