No. 3: George Kittle is a First-Team All-Pro… Again
Well, maybe this isn’t so bold.
Last year, George Kittle’s all-around efforts on the field earned him recognition as one of the league’s two best tight ends, the other first-team All-Pro being the Kansas City Chiefs’ Travis Kelce. And while Kelce’s own accolades stand high, one also has to account for Pro Football Focus naming Kittle the best player in 2019 overall, not just tight end.
That speaks for something.
Heading into 2020, Kittle will be seeking out a new contract as he enters the final year of his rookie deal. While that could be addressed sometime between now and Week 1, there’s plenty of motivation there.
On top of that, a recent ESPN poll of top NFL executives, coaches and players named Kittle, not Kelce, as the NFL’s best tight end.
So there’s that to chew on, too.
Barring injury, there’s hardly any reason to suspect Kittle won’t be named yet another first-team All-Pro, perhaps joining Kelce again atop the ranks at this position.
But if you’re looking for TE No. 1, Kittle has to be the guy.
