The 49ers may be facing down an upstart Cardinals team in coming years, prompting questions who won the offseason between these two teams.

The NFC West, with the San Francisco 49ers now at the helm, is heating up to be one of the most competitive divisions in the NFL. The NFC West probably is the most well-rounded division in the league, honestly.

The Seattle Seahawks have been the most consistent in the last five years. The Los Angeles Rams went to the Super Bowl two years ago, while the Niners just completed their latest campaign to get to the Super Bowl last season, falling just short to the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Arizona Cardinals, meanwhile, went to the Super Bowl in 2008. And despite falling on some hard times in the seasons since, the current Cardinals squad under second-year head coach Kliff Kingsbury is on the up despite a 5-10-1 finish last season. And while San Francisco won both bouts against its division rival last season, Arizona certainly pushed head coach Kyle Shanahan’s squad in both contests.

It’s safe to say the NFC West is a very good division. With the NFL in the middle of the offseason, a lot of news about the moves each team has come out, and there’s no shortage of speculation and analysis to be had.

With the Cardinals on the rise and a lot of similarities to the 49ers of the last few years, let’s compare how they have approached their offseason in comparison to the 49ers.
