No. 2: 49ers wide receiver Trent Taylor

In 2019, Trent Taylor suffered a Jones fracture, and the recovery wasn’t easy or without complications. Consequently, the fourth-year veteran from Louisiana Tech missed the entirety of the 49ers’ Super Bowl run.

Taylor makes a lot of sense: He knows the playbook, has the experience, is fresh on the heels of recovering from his injury.

Above all, he has proven chemistry with quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo.

In Garoppolo’s first five games with the 49ers, he looked Taylor’s way 20 times, often from the slot, to put up 181 yards on 17 catches and this incredible touchdown against the vaunted 2017 Jacksonville defense:

The way Garoppolo rolls out and threads it with a sidearm. The way Taylor creates separation and gets to the perfect spot at just the right time. Both Garoppolo and Taylor will be eager to rekindle this type of hookup.

With Deebo Samuel potentially out of the equation early on, fans could see more of it.
