The 49ers receiving corps was hit with injuries last week, including Deebo Samuel, so these other wideouts might shine.

Adding injury to… injury, at least two more San Francisco 49ers players have suffered setbacks during their training sessions in Nashville, Tennessee, according to NFL Network.

On Tuesday, NFL insider Ian Rapoport reported second-year wide receiver Deebo Samuel suffered a Jones fracture on his left foot. This is the same type of injury that sidelined fellow wideout Trent Taylor all of last season, but Samuel appears to be on track for a 10-week recovery after surgery, which took place the same day the injury was reported.

The day after Samuel’s injury was announced, fellow NFL insider Mike Garafolo reported wide receiver and punt returner Richie James suffered a broken bone in his wrist and is looking to miss the next two months.

And now this from Tom Pelissero:

One crisis at a time. For now, let’s focus on the wide receivers.

Samuel has a real shot at suiting up in Week 1, provided there are no setbacks with his injury. If the chips fall for Samuel the way they did for Taylor, then Samuel could miss time.

These are the wide receivers next in line who at least stand to benefit from the extra attention.
