No. 1: 49ers Win Super Bowl LV

If we’re going bold, we might as well go bold all the way and suggest San Francisco ends up winning it all this season.

This isn’t just a hyperbolic prediction, either. Case in point, The Action Network gives the Niners the third-best odds (plus-900) at winning Super Bowl LV this season behind the Chiefs (plus-546) and the Ravens (plus-647).

Based solely on these odds, a one-in-three chance isn’t bad for a bold prediction at all. But let’s dive a little deeper.

San Francisco still boasts one of the deepest rosters in the league entering this season. With the continuity in mind, all one has to do is remember how Kyle Shanahan’s squad steamrolled through both the divisional and NFC Championship rounds of the playoffs, demolishing both the Minnesota Vikings and Green Bay Packers in the process.

And the 49ers were mere minutes away from beating the Chiefs, too, and were in charge of the game for the first three-plus quarters. While parity in the NFL is a real thing, few teams are as equipped as San Francisco to withstand having the proverbial “target on the back,” and there’s little reason to assume the Niners suffer some dramatic falloff this season.

But to be bold, let’s go ahead and make the prediction the 49ers wind up surviving any late fourth-quarter comebacks and end up hoisting their sixth Lombardi Trophy this upcoming February.
