49ers Hall of Famer Ronnie Lott assists with COVID-19 relief

49ers Hall of Fame safety Ronnie Lott was known for hard-hitting ways, and he’s taking that energy to tackle COVID-19 with relief assistance.
If there was one player, past or present, you’d want to tackle COVID-19, it’s San Francisco 49ers Pro Football Hall of Fame legend Ronnie Lott.
Lott’s on-field accolades need no introduction. For anyone who watched him play during the Niners’ glory years during the 1980s, those fans knew opposing wide receivers thought twice about crossing over the middle of the field.
Yet the NFL and the entire world are facing a new challenge with the coronavirus and all the fallout associated with the global pandemic.
Not surprisingly, Lott is challenging those setbacks, too.
Lott recently announced on his Facebook page a coalition with the Bay Area’s Stephen Silver Fine Jewelry to raise $100,000 for two local 501 (c)(3) non-profit organizations, Eat REAL and Eastside College Preparatory School, who have both been profoundly affected by COVID-19.

“We got to raise $100,000 dollars and to me that goal that we’ve put out there, we are all eager to share our story,” Lott said in the announcement.
There are multiple ways people can get involved. Eat REAL’s website has a direct link to Lott’s involvement here, and you can donate right at the bottom of the page.
As of the last check, the non-profit is just over a quarter of the way to their $100,000 goal.
Additionally, people can sell their jewelry to one of two Stephen Silver Fine Jewelry locations in the Bay Area listed here. Stephen Silver Fine Jewelry will donate a portion of all purchases made for jewelry bought by the company.
Proceeds will go to Eat REAL and Eastside Prep.
For those lucky enough not to be struggling financially right now, this is a great way to give back to the community, both by helping youth organizations and non-profits in need.
Plus, you’ll wind up getting quite the tackling “assist” with Lott, who is using his skills to take down yet another adversary.
