No. 2: 49ers Wide Receiver Deebo Samuel

Projected 2020 Fantasy Football Points: 196.88

It’s almost as if then-rookie wide receiver Deebo Samuel was tailor made for Kyle Shanahan’s offense, and the head coach didn’t hesitate to use the former South Carolina standout as both a pass-catching option and end-around running back on the multitude of sweeps the 49ers ran.

Those rushing totals netted Samuel 159 rush yards and three touchdowns on the ground last year, by the way.

Yet it’s receiving yards and touchdowns ultimately giving fantasy owners value during any given season. Samuel was a little short in the receiving-touchdown department a year ago, having just three on 57 receptions. And while his 802 receiving yards and 961 total yards from scrimmage helped, owners would like to see a bit more end-zone pay dirt this upcoming season.

San Francisco parting ways with veteran wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders during the offseason opens up the door for Samuel to be Jimmy Garoppolo’s No. 1 wide receiver target in 2020.

That bodes well, and the rest of the fantasy sports world is taking notice.

Samuel’s ADP currently sits at 4.06, meaning you won’t be able to sleep on the second-year wide receiver for long.
