49ers schedule release: 5 must-watch games in 2020
The schedule for the 2020 NFL season was released this past Thursday. Which games are the most intriguing for the San Francisco 49ers in 2020?
On Thursday, the NFL released the schedule for its 2020 season. As with previous schedule releases, it came with many emotions, mostly positive. Every fanbase gets a renewed lease and has a chance to believe its team will go all the way.
The fanbase of the San Francisco 49ers was particularly anxious to see the 2020 season schedule. The Niners greatly surpassed almost every expert’s prediction for 2019. Many didn’t even see them finishing with a record above .500.
The team improved upon a 4-12 season finish in 2018 and turned it into a 13-3 finish in 2019. Not to mention they came within minutes of winning Super Bowl LIV (I know, it still hurts me, too).
Now it is time for the “Revenge Tour 2020”.
The 2020 schedule for San Francisco includes a Week 11 bye and five prime-time games (which ties them for first in that regard). Of those, three are Sunday Night Football games, along with one Thursday night game and one Monday night game.
Unlike last season, which began and ended on the road, this season begins and ends with games at Levi’s Stadium. And along the way, some familiar faces from days of past will be on the opposing sideline facing off against the team.
In 2020, the 49ers will take on the AFC East and NFC East divisions, both of which will provide some interesting matchups for them.
But of all their 16 games, which of them will provide the most intrigue for fans?
Which games will have deeper storylines than just the two teams playing against each other? Let’s take a closer look at five matchups that provide a “must-watch” appeal for fans of the 49ers and NFL fans alike.
