49ers 2020 NFL schedule: Too-soon win/loss predictions
The NFL released the schedule for the 2020 NFL season on Thursday night, which means it’s time to predict how the San Francisco 49ers will fare in their matchups.
The San Francisco 49ers announced their 2020 NFL schedule via Twitter on Thursday night, meaning players, coaches and fans alike finally knew not only who the Niners would play, but when those games would take place.
Obviously there are concerns about whether the season will start on time due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but the NFL seems to be pressing on, at least for now, as if the season will start on time and cause no truncations in the 17-week schedule.
But as of now, the 49ers 2020 season looks something like this:
Week 1: Sept. 13 vs. Cardinals, 4:25/1:25 PM
Week 2: Sept. 20 at Jets, 1:00 PM/10:00 AM
Week 3: Sept. 27 at Giants, 1:00 PM/10:00 AM
Week 4: Oct. 4 vs. Eagles (Sunday Night Football), 8:20/5:20 PM
Week 5: Oct. 11 vs. Dolphins, 4:05/1:05 PM
Week 6: Oct. 18 vs. Rams (Sunday Night Football), 8:20/5:20 PM
Week 7: Oct. 25 at Patriots, 4:25/1:25 PM
Week 8: Nov. 1 at Seahawks, 4:25/1:25 PM
Week 9: Nov. 5 vs. Packers (Thursday Night Football), 8:20/5:20 PM
Week 10: Nov. 15 at Saints, 4:25/1:25 PM
Week 11: BYE
Week 12: Nov. 29 at Rams, 4:05/1:05 PM
Week 13: Dec. 7 vs. Bills (Monday Night Football), 8:15/5:15 PM
Week 14: Dec. 13 vs. Redskins, 4:25/1:25 PM
Week 15: Dec. 20 at Cowboys (Sunday Night Football), 8:20/5:20 PM
Week 16: Dec. 26 OR Dec. 27 at Cardinals, TBD
Week 17: Jan, 3 vs. Seahawks, 4:25/1:25 PM
A few things of note are the 49ers are among eight teams who will play five prime-time games, three of which are on Sunday Night Football, one on Monday Night Football and the other the league-mandated Thursday Night Football contest.
Of those five games, four are home matchups at Levi’s Stadium, with the final SNF game in Dallas on Dec. 20.
The 49ers also caught a bit of a break with their games in cold-weather cities, with contests against the New York Giants, New York Jets and New England Patriots all taking place before the end of October. The Giants and Jets games, both of which will take place at MetLife Stadium, will be played in back-to-back weeks.
With all that said, it’s that time of year where football fans make the switch over from mock drafts to final win/loss predictions.
Let’s break down the schedule and take a stab at the 49ers’ final record for the 2020 season.
