This group remains unchanged from the end of last season.

Kicker Robbie Gould is coming off one of the worst seasons of his career, hitting on just 74.2 percent of his field goals and missing one extra point on 42 tries. But his $5.1 million contract and $6.6 million dead money hit means he’ll be back for 2020. He is the team’s 11th highest-paid player for next season.

Punter Mitch Wishnowsky is only in his second season as a 49er after being selected in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL Draft. The Australian finished his first NFL season with 52 punts with a 44.9-yard average, good for just 25th in the league.

Since the team signed camp bodies for either position, it seems unlikely either is in any danger of losing their spot for 2020.

As for long-snapper Kyle Nelson, the team will be looking forward to some stability at the position after a revolving door beginning to last season. While Nelson was suspended for the latter part of 2018 and the first part of 2019, the team tried Colton Holba at the position before releasing him in mid-September in favor of Jon Condo.

Nelson is entering the second year of a four-year contract he signed back in 2019, and while the team could release him with no penalty, he’s been a stable hand at a vital but oft-overlooked position on the team.
