Predicting 49ers starting lineup after 2020 NFL Draft
By Peter Panacy
Tight End
George Kittle
No surprises here.
The 49ers will roll out the 2019 first-team All-Pro, George Kittle, although he’ll get some support here.
This will come in many forms. First, some of the moves San Francisco made at wide receiver, which will take some of the pressure off Kittle and hopefully open things up for him a bit more than the first half of last season.
On top of that, the Niners brought aboard Charlie Woerner to assist with blocking. This move helped alleviate the free-agent loss of the Niners’ other blocking tight end, Levine Toilolo, who left for the New York Giants during the offseason.
Woerner isn’t much of a pass-catching threat, which means Kittle and No. 2 tight end Ross Dwelley assume the statistical numbers.
