It’s been popular to mock Utah State quarterback Jordan Love here, but I don’t think Love is going to be the Pats’ top NFL Draft choice or that it’s even going to be a quarterback (Georgia’s Jake Fromm would fit them more)

I think the Patriots will look to upgrade their defense early in the NFL Draft instead, as they’ve lost some key personnel and their defense will be the key to them staying on top of the division.

Linebacker Patrick Queen has been a riser in the draft process and now looks set to be a selection on Thursday night.

Queen fits the Patriots scheme as a smart linebacker who can tackle and is very physical. He’s strong in coverage, and quick feet means he can break through gaps.

He’s got sideline-to-sideline speed and the skills to be a three-down linebacker, but he has to improve his strength to make sure he doesn’t get swept aside by the stronger blockers in the NFL.
