The Minnesota Vikings have been clearing cap space due to quarterback Kirk Cousins‘ contract, and it seems likely veteran tackle Riley Reiff will be let go at some point as he’s an average tackle with an above-average contract. The Vikings can save over $10 million if they cut him.
Of course, they need to make sure they have a replacement first. USC’s Austin Jackson would be drafted ahead of this, but he had a down season at USC. However, this can be ignored, as he had donated bone marrow to his sister.
Jackson is raw but will develop into a really good tackle if coached up properly. His technique isn’t quite there yet and his footwork needs work, so teams need to be patient with him.
He does have good size and length, however, and is a tough player who loves the game. He has the potential to develop into one of the top tackles in the league if brought along correctly.
