The 49ers finally grab a position many expected them to address in the first round: cornerback. Despite many speaking to the contrary, the Niners are solid at the cornerback position. Richard Sherman, although aging, still played at an elite level last year, and Emmanuel Moseley stepped up and is ready to start this next season.

But the Niners decide to stock up at corner just in case with Oklahoma State’s A.J. Green. No, not that A.J. Green.

Green is a lengthy, tall corner who started three seasons at Oklahoma State. Green is aggressive from the line of scrimmage but is not as fast as many other prospects, which could be a huge flaw against NFL wide receivers. He has solid athleticism and knows how to use his size, but is undisciplined and often gets beat because of his lack of speed.

However, he performed well in one of the most pass-heavy conferences in college football, so he certainly has potential.

He will be a solid backup for the Niners to add to their depth chart while they wait to get their superstar corner next year.

And who knows, maybe working with Sherman will help Green develop some of his weaknesses and grow into a star.
