No. 2: Don’t overthink it

This is thankfully not something John Lynch is guilty of doing, but it always pays to repeat this little gem of advice.

The obvious choice is normally the correct one. San Francisco can essentially let the NFL Draft pan out the way it will, then grab one of a number of players who have a good chance of being available when the team is slated to pick for the first time.

If Alabama wide receiver Jerry Jeudy is there at No. 13? Grab him. If Oklahoma wide receiver CeeDee Lamb is there? Grab him. If Auburn defensive tackle Derrick Brown by some miracle is there?

Do not hesitate even for a second.

Lynch showed last year he can make the obvious pick, but there’s a lot more variables involved later on in the draft.

But if there’s an obvious decision to be made, be sure to make it.
