Defensive Tackle. Gamecocks . Javon Kinlaw. 15. player. 850.

Right out of the gate, the 49ers execute a trade down with one of their best trading partners, the Denver Broncos.

Like San Francisco, Denver needs some wide receiver help in this year’s draft, and Broncos general manager John Elway would love to get his hands on a player like Alabama’s Jerry Jeudy, who was still available at No. 13 overall.

In order to make it work, John Lynch merely asks for one of the two picks back used in the Emmanuel Sanders trade last year.

Instead of going with a wide receiver here as well, the Niners find their heir apparent along the defensive line for defensive tackle DeForest Buckner, who was dealt to the Indianapolis Colts in exchange for the 49ers’ first draft selection.

The Buckner trade now nets another pick in return.

With the pick, San Francisco grabs South Carolina defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw, who is an interior pocket-wrecking force with plenty of pass-rushing prowess and blocker-eating potential.

And if you think the Niners would have zero interest in a player like Kinlaw, think again. He’s a prospect NBC Sports Bay Area’s Matt Maiocco has been touting as a definite possibility if he slips.

In this particular mock, Kinlaw does slip. The 49ers maintain their D-line prowess heading into 2020.
